What is PB4L School-Wide

Positive Behaviour 4 Learning School-Wide (PB4L School-Wide) helps schools to develop a social culture that supports learning and positive behaviour. It is an evidence-based framework that looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school, as well as an individual student, perspective.

PB4L School-Wide takes the approach that opportunities for learning and achievement increase if:

The school environment is positive and supportive.
Expectations are consistently clear.
Students are consistently taught desired behaviours.
Students are consistently acknowledged for desired behaviours and responded to in a fair and equitable way.
A continuum of support that meets the needs of all students is available.

PB4L School-Wide takes schools through a tiered process over a minimum of 3-5 years. At each tier, schools put in place systems and practices that match the needs of their students. Using data to make meaningful and informed decisions is also critical.
